NETGEAR WNDR3300 wins POPULAR MECHANICS Editors Choice Award.

NETGEAR WNDR3300The NETGEAR RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Router (WNDR3300) has won the POPULAR MECHANICS Magazine's celebrated Editor's Choice Award at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world's largest annual tradeshow for consumer technology and America's largest annual tradeshow of any kind.

POPULAR MECHANICS' editor-in-chief, James Meigs, presented NETGEAR with the award at a private ceremony at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The company was one of only 20 companies so honored by the magazine, from 2,700 CES exhibitors launching more than 20,000 products.

"We're particularly pleased to receive this prestigious recognition for the RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Router, as it offers a host of advantages to our customers," said David Henry, NETGEAR's director for home/consumer products. "Not only does it offer simultaneous support for wireless-N and legacy devices at their maximum respective speeds, but it addresses one of the main pain points for most users - security setup. Our innovative "Push 'N' Connect" feature is truly one of a kind, and makes setup seamless."

"NETGEAR's Dual Band Wireless-N Router was one of the 20 products that stood out from the pack at CES this year for innovation, invention, design and engineering," said James Meigs, editor-in-chief of POPULAR MECHANICS.

POPULAR MECHANICS' technology editors wrote, "NETGEAR's Dual Band Wireless-N Router promises fast and reliable performance, but easy is better. NETGEAR offers Push 'N' Connect security setup using WPS discovery protocol, which will allow users to simply push a button on the router, then a software button on their laptop, and everything sets up safely, securely, and best of all, automatically."

The first DLNA certified mobile phone is here.

Nokia N95 8GB the first DLNA certified mobileThe Nokia N95 8GB has been given the distinction of being the first ever mobile phone to receive Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) certification.

The Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) is an international, cross-industry collaboration of consumer electronics, computing industry and mobile device companies.

The main objective of DLNA is the establishment of a wired and wireless interoperable network of personal computers, consumer electronics and mobile devices in the home and on the road, enabling a seamless environment for sharing new digital media and content services.

DLNA is focused on delivering an interoperability framework of design guidelines based on internationally recognized open industry standards together with a certification and logo program to officially verify and validate the conformance and interoperability of compliant products for the consumers.

"We are thrilled to receive this tribute from the DLNA. The Nokia N95 8GB is truly a masterpiece of a multimedia computer, and a prime example of the direction mobility is taking - it's personal, powerful and fits seamlessly into your life inside and outside the home," said Anssi Vanjoki one of Nokia's executive vice presidents.

The DLNA has already certified over 1800 products in the personal computer and consumer electronic categories, but this is the first time the stringent guidelines for interoperability set by the DLNA have been met by a mobile phone. Mobile devices were included in the DLNA Networked Device Interoperability Guidelines that were published in early 2006, and are now part of the recently launched DLNA certification program. The Nokia N95 8GB passed DLNA's rigorous testing process to receive the green DLNA Certified logo.
